What should I do before a home cleaning service?

To make our services more efficient and so we can stay committed to respecting your home and your privacy as a homeowner, we ask that you clear the clutter before we arrive by picking up clothing, toys, and other household items that might impede our ability to perform our cleaning services.

Do I have to be home during house cleanings?

Most of our customers aren’t home when we clean because we clean Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. However, most of our customers trust us with the key to their home. For added peace of mind, all house keys are individually coded and cross-referenced, then locked in a lock box behind a locked door in our office. We take your privacy and the safety of your home very seriously, and know that it’s no simple thing that you’re entrusting that security to us.

What time does Tidy Maids arrive?

While we can’t guarantee an exact time our team will arrive (we ensure each home gets the TLC it deserves), we do offer arrival windows and work to adhere to specific preferences you may have. Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What if something is damaged during a home cleaning?

We treat you and your home with complete respect. If something does unexpectedly break, we do our best to either repair or replace that item. Residential maids are fully insured, so claims are filed when appropriate.

What if my maid service missed a spot?

Our maid services offer consistent, quality home cleaning. It’s rare that we miss a spot, but if it does, we offer a house cleaning service guarantee. That means if you notify us within 24 hours, our house cleaning staff will correct their mistake at no charge.

Am I liable for workers’ compensation, insurance or employment taxes?

Absolutely not! We take care of personal liability with regard to work-related injury and social security taxes. While some independent maid services may leave homeowners liable to such things, we are fully insured and licensed for your protection as well as the protection of our team.

What Does Tidy Maids Not Clean?

Professional cleaning services from Tidy Maids are designed to help keep your home fresh, clean and comfortable. So we clean everything that we can reach every time. To provide this level of exceptional service to all our valued customers, there are some areas and items in your home that we don’t clean.

We typically will not:

Wash dishes

Do laundry or clean your iron

Pick up or remove clutter

Clean inside of fireplaces

Clean toys

Wash walls

Move furniture

Additional services such as cleaning the inside of your refrigerator, freezer, and/or stove, are available by request.

Do I provide cleaning supplies or equipment?

Nope, we’ve got it covered! Our teams always come fully equipped to clean with top-quality green products and clean commercial vacuums (they are cleaned after every use). That being said, because we like to keep things flexible, if you request and provide the preferred equipment or products, we can work with you to use those in your home as well.

What happens if I need to reschedule my maid service?

It’s preferred that you call with 72 hours to spare before a regularly scheduled home cleaning so we can work out a more convenient time. Contact us for specific guidelines regarding rescheduling and/or cancellations. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs.

What if my home cleaning falls on a holiday?

We call to reschedule for a more convenient time when house cleanings fall on holidays. Tidy Maids will also remind you about additional maid services in which you may have expressed an interest. Perhaps that means an additional clean prior to a big holiday party. If you’ve scheduled that extra holiday cleaning service, canceling or rescheduling requires notice.

How do I pay for residential cleaning services?

Payments are due the day of your scheduled home cleaning service. Most customers find it convenient to simply leave a check in the home, made payable to Tidy Maids. We also accept cash or credit cards.

How soon can I take cleaning off my chore list?

How much does it cost to have my home cleaned?

Because we work with you to create a custom cleaning plan designed for your specific needs based on frequency, preferences, and budget, we don’t have set rates, but rest assured we work to make getting your home cleaned professionally affordable. We also offer hourly and specialty add-on services such as refrigerator and oven cleaning. Your time is valuable, let us help you enjoy more of it!

Can I provide special instructions for my team?

We encourage it! Special instructions will enhance the cleaning experience you receive. However, it is very important you communicate any special instructions directly to the office phone so that we can place them in the permanent notes section of your file. This makes your notes available to any team that may clean your home in the future, as well as a reminder for your regular team.

Why do I have to have an initial clean at a higher cost?

Over the years, we have found that having that first clean brings your home up to a certain standard. It’s a standard that we promise to maintain. We normally need extra time to properly start the process of eliminating soap scum and mildew buildup along with dust accumulation, baseboards and detailed vacuuming and dusting. How often can you provide service?

We offer services on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis depending on your cleaning needs. We also offer cleanings for special occasions as well as move-in and move-out cleaning services.

How competitive are your rates

Our prices are very competitive, especially for the industry and the level of service we provide. We may have slightly higher prices than some individual cleaning companies because we cover our workers compensation and liability insurance, provide company cars, cleaning materials and equipment, and pay for background checks. But that’s all part of giving you peace of mind and ensuring that our quality and commitment to safety never wavers.

Do you always send the same team?

We believe that sending the same team is very important and we do everything within our control to send the same team on a regular basis. However, just like every workplace, we experience absences and resignations. We will send a replacement team, if necessary, in order to meet your schedule requirements. All of our teams are trained in the same cleaning system, so that when another team must be used, you’ll know, and you can rest assured the same level of care and detail will be given to your home as always.

Is the team OK with pets?

Yes! We are a pet-friendly company and believe it is OK to have pets in the house while we clean. If your dog/cat is aggressive in any way, we suggest leaving your pet outside or in a gated area to ensure the safety of our team. If you are not home during our clean, we ask that you note how to handle the pet so the team is clear when entering the home.
